Wedding Prep- Details Checklist
Your wedding morning will be full of joy, anticipation and excitement. It should be a fun few hours together with your wedding party celebrating that the day is finally here and enjoying the getting ready process! It can also be a really fun time for photographs. These images are often more laid back and candid, showing the emotions of the morning.
It is also a time to have all of your wedding details photographed, the items you have spent all this time picking out! To make sure your photos turn out exactly how you envision we have created a checklist of items you can remember to have on hand.
1. Your Gown and Accessories.
Have all of your accessories- jewelry, shoes, garter, stationery suite, rings, purse, sentimental items or good luck tokens- in one place ready to be photographed. It is best to set these out somewhere that is free from clutter and has a nice amount of window light. Don't forget to clean your engagement ring so it will shine in all of your photos today!
For your gown you can have it hanging up somewhere safe away from all of the getting ready commotion. If there is a specific spot you envision it hanging for a photo let us know and we will happily help! We have photographed gowns indoors and outdoors on wedding mornings and know how to move them around so that they are kept safe. It is always a nice to touch to have your gown hanging on a decorative wooden or metal hanger, this will make for a nicer photo too.
2. Bridesmaids Details
Every bride loves a photo with all of her bridesmaids on the wedding morning. A cute way to level this photo up is by having your bridesmaids in matching robes, pajamas, or button up shirts. The options are endless with this and alot of brides will give these as a gift on the wedding day.
Speaking of bridesmaids gifts, if you are giving them out have us photograph that or ask your maid of honor to set the items aside once she has opened hers so that we can photograph them on their own.
3. Pretty Beverages
If you are sharing a toast with your wedding party in the morning have a bottle set aside to be photographed. We can photograph the bottle and then have some fun with photos of you popping it open and pouring it out! These are always really fun images that capture the celebratory mood of the day.
You can also use decorative glasses or tumblers as a way to dress up these photos.
4. Flowers
Have your bouquet delivered to your getting ready location so that it can be photographed with all of your bridal details. Also, ask your florist to deliver a few loose stems of florals and greenery as these can be used to style your images when we are photographing your jewelry and stationery.
5. Location
All of the above photos can be made even more better based on your getting ready location. When you are looking for this space try to pick rooms with lots of natural light/big windows and minimal, neutral decor. You also want to make sure there is space for everyones things to be put away so that at least one room or area is left clutter free for your photos. Consider too that your hair and makeup team will want some space near a window to setup their items so make sure there is plenty of space for this and your photography.
These photos on your wedding morning really help to set the mood and tone for the day and tell your story when set into your wedding album or gallery. Make sure to take advantage of the above tips and leave time for it all to be documented. We recommend a minimum of 60 minutes for bridal getting ready photos if you want all of the details above captured!
